Why advertise on social media ever again?

Here’s how the money works on FOREPLAI:

• An artist purchases 1,000 Promo Credits for £16 or £0.016 for each one.
• Each fan receives one promo play. Fans can pay for additional plays.
• An artist earns £0.024 per play when a fan pays.
• Fans can share the song with other fans, who can then play and share it with others.

Here’s how the simulation works:

• 100,000 potential fans appear as dark turquoise-blue dots on the canvas.
• The artist appears as a pink circle in the centre.
• Fans who receive promo plays appear as light green circles.
• Lines animate between fans when they share the song.
• Fans who pay for one or more plays turn turquoise-blue.
• The circles grow larger with each additional play.

The default values include:

• 1,000 initial fans get promo plays
• 25,000 fans in the network
• Each fan can play 0 – 10 additional times
• Each fan can share with 0 – 25 fans
• 30% of fans will not receive a promo or share

The scenario ends when all available fans have reached these thresholds; however, in reality, it could continue indefinitely.
